It is so fun to listen to the new words kids learn as they are growing up. I wanted to record some of their favorites.
Stephen - "phenomenal"

Ellen - "like" (the California Girl kind of "like")
Naomi - "father" (she doesn't call James "Father" but when we are talking about the dad of someone else she always calls them their father.)
Noah - "I promise." and "I guess so."

Happy Birthday Naomi
I know this is really, REALLY late. But here it is...
Naomi turned 4 on February 18. Because we had the Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts on the 18th we actually celebrated Naomi's birthday on the 17th. She thought that was just fine! This is the 100th year of Cub Scouts so the banquet was like a huge birthday party. There were balloons and birthday decorations all over. Naomi thought it was all for her! She was SO excited!
Naomi wanted a banana cake for her birthday. We call her our little Monkey and she loves anything to do with monkeys so a banana cake fit right in. She wanted it to have bananas inside the cake and a banana on top of the cake. I found a banana cake recipe online and came up with this for the top. Naomi said it was just right. Hooray!
She got some wonderful presents and had a really nice birthday.
Here are the 12 things we love about Naomi at age 4:
1. She is the best helper when doing the laundry. She know exactly which articles of clothing belong to which people.
2. She still prefers to sleep with her special "flower blanket" she got from Uncle Ben and Aunt Lynsey when she was a baby.
3. When Naomi meets someone new, or even greets someone she already knows, she prefers to wave rather than say hello.
4. Naomi love to snuggle!
5. She is very proud of the fact that she is doing pre-school. Even if it is pre-school at home and mom is her teacher.
6. She enjoys changing her mind.
7. Naomi gives special "big love hugs" and says that she can give them because Nana gave her one.
8. One of Naomi's favorite activities is coloring. It can keep her busy for over an hour!
9. Her favorite colors are pink and purple.
10. Naomi loves hearts, and has known for quite a while that her birthday is 4 days after Valentines Day.
11. Naomi loves monkeys. She often refers to herself as Mama's Monkey or Curious George (she didn't know about Curious George until after the monkey infatuation was well established) as often reminds us to call her Monkey or Curious.
12. She calls James "Handsome" and he loves it!
